The Dead Live On
I had the good fortune of getting a ticket to last night’s Dead reunion (w/Allman Brothers opening) at Penn State. The scene was electric (and hazy) inside the arena as remaining Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bobby Kreutzmann played a two and a half hour set for the crowd, which included some sing-along favorites like Franklin’s Tower, Truckin’ and Touch of Grey. Rumors have been swirling the past couple of months about a possible nation-wide reunion tour in 2009. We will have to wait and see…
New Green Day Album On The Horizon
It has been more than four years since American Idiot was released. Fifteen million albums later, Green Day is finally back in the studio working on a follow up. Not to many details on the upcoming album except that it will be produced by Butch Vig (who is responsible for the production on Nirvana’s Nevermind, and the Smashing Pumpkins’ Gish).
She’s Back (without the addiction problems…we think)
Break out your Catholic school girl outfits, the one and only Britney Spears premiered the video for her new single, Womanizer on (of all places) 20/20 last Friday night. I have to say that Britney looks like she is in top form. A far cry from what she was looking like, well……here. The video is currently being streamed on her official website.
American Music Award Nominations
The nominations for the American Music Awards were announced today with Alicia Keys grabbing five nomination. Artist of the year looks like the category to watch this year. When will we ever see Lil Wayne and the Eagles nominated for the same award again? The full list can be seen here.
