Live Nation Continues Takeoverlivenation_myspace0011

Music promoter and record label Live Nation will continue their attempts at taking over the music industry, when they launch a new digital music store. So far three of the four major music labels have agreed to terms, allowing Live Nation to sell mp3s on its website. The company will setup artist pages to offer the songs on.

Eminem Delays Album Release Date

Unfortunately, Eminem fans will have to wait to buy the long anticipated follow-up to Encore. According to the New York Post, Eminem will postpone the album’s release until early 2009. What’s worse, is that this delay will likely mean another delay for Dr. Dre’s supposed magnum-opus, Detox. Eminem said last month on his SIRIUS radio station, Shade 45, that Interscope is planning on releasing a “three-headed monster” in succession: a new 50 Cent album, then Eminem’s album, concluding with Dr. Dre’s Detox.

Fatboy Slim’s New Album

British DJ Fatboy Slim will release his first studio album in five years on February 3, 2009. Fatboy Slim has recruited an eclectic all-star cast to help him out on Brighton Port Authority, including British rapper Dizzee Rascal, former Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne, and rock legend Iggy Pop. With a cast like that, the new album is sure to produce in interesting mix of songs.
