Editor’s Pick #100: GIRL TALK @ CORNELL, April 5, 2009 by alpolste

Scene: An enormous weed smoke-saturated gymnasium (Barton Hall), three-quarters empty, one-quarter packed with sweat-drenched 20-year-olds, who have clearly chosen dancing over breathing. Loud music, flying toilet paper, packed stage, and Girl Talk, half naked standing on his DJ table also added to the party atmosphere. You would have never known it was a Sunday night at this Ivy League University.

High: Getting “a little bit louder now” when Girl Talk played samples of “Shout” in one of his mixes.

Low: Awkward grinding/humping EVERYWHERE on the dance floor.

Aftermath: Flip-flops, t-shirts, headbands, and toilet paper covered the emptying venue. There was a massive migration to Collegetown, Cornell’s version of Marshall Street, where lines for pizza were out the door.

So were Jett and I!
He was quite a sight, it’s too bad we didn’t see you.
