Editor’s Pick #137: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT MILEY? by alpolste

It is not uncommon for Disney stars to branch out into acting and music once they hit their mid-teens. But it seems that today, almost all of the well-known Disney channel girls are scrambling to hop on the Miley Cyrus train and try their hand at catchy pop music. Not since Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and *NSYNC (JC and Justin were both on The Mickey Mouse Club like Britney and Christina) came on the music scene have so many Disney alums been entering the music industry. Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and Demi Lovato are all looking for Cyrus fame and seem to have a definite following among tweens. It will be interesting to see which Disney princesses, if any, can cross over and appeal to older audiences. My best bet would be on the somewhat edgier, slightly older, but overwhelmingly whiney Ashley Tisdale who is on the cover of Cosmo this month and whose new album, Guilty Pleasure, will be released in June.
