We bring you our very special Thanksgiving 20, based on artists named after a variety of avian creatures.

Don’t know who this girl is? It’s okay, she’s not the next Fiona Apple, but she’s got a song on Grey’s Anatomy.

Anya Marina, one of Rolling Stone’s “break-out artists,” is a one-piece acoustic band who can rip some catchy pop songs…but most importantly, she’s coming to Funk ‘N Waffles on March 4th with two other folk/acoustic artists, Greg Laswell and Jay Nash.

Sure, she sounds like a mix between Sheryl Crow and Shirley Manson from Garbage. That’s not what I care about though–it’s her sexy voice. It’s so deliciously raspy that it sounds like she’s smoked just enough cigarettes, but not so many that she sounds like David Carr on his NY Times “Carpet-Bagger” blog.
